|Comment||Legrand (1885: 22-24) refers to 'Bibliothèque nationale de Paris, B 146 Réserve', which is a printed edition from ca. 1494 or 1498.
The epigram is also to be found in the 16th-century manuscript Istanbul, Patr. Bibl. Panaghia 71 (a. 1506, f. 244r).
The attribution to Manuel Philes in uncertain. It is based on Miller (1857: 353-354 n. 4): 'Psalterii graeci Venetiis circa annum 1495 impressi extremam paginam hi claudunt versus sine nomine auctoris; sed facile agnoscas Manuelem Philem cui restituendi sunt'.
