| Εἰ ζήσας τέκνον ἔτυχες ὁπόσον ζήσας τύχοις | |
| αὖθις τε πάλιν ἔζησας ἄλλο τοσόνδε φεύγοι | |
| πρός τε τοσοῦδε τῆς ζωῆς ἡμίσει χρόνου τύχῃ | |
| σοὶ προστιθείσης ἥμισυ τοῦ μέσου τῆς ζωῆς σου | |
| ἐν ἑκατὸν ἂν ἔτεσιν ἔπνεις σὺν ᾧδε ζῆσαι. | |
