Ἄναξ Μανουὴλ, τί παθὼν οὕτω τρέπῃ;
σὺ γὰρ βασιλεύτατος εἶναι τῶν ὅλων
εὔχῃ κρατούντων καὶ φοβῇ Περσοσκύθας;
μισεῖ θεός γαρ ὑπερηφάνους φρένας,
καὶ τοῖς ταπεινοῖς ἄφθονον χάριν νέμει.
