Palaeographical information Written in the right margin by a later hand; cf. Luzzatto (2000: 648): 'copiate da un dotto di prima eta paleologa'.
Contextual information The epigram is written next to Herodotus' Histories 1.39.2 and refers to the word 'φηῖς' in the main text. The two verses are followed, immediately below, by the example 'φῇς φὴς'.
It is the first in a series of four verse scholia on this folio.
