Palaeographical information The epigram is written in the same minuscule and dark ink used for the main text. However, the initials of each verse are written in majuscule and they are coloured alternatively in red and blue.

Comment Turyn (1972: 97): "There is the possibility to be kept in mind that the above political colophon in Vatic. graec. 2111 was transcribed from the exemplar copied by the scribe. While the identity of the scribe of both mss., Grottaferrata Γ.α.I and Vatic. graec. 2111, is certain, it still remains somewhat doubtful whether the colophon was primary and authentic and whether the scribe's name really was Ἰωσὴφ μελενδύτης".
